Background

For nearly 70 years Barkman Concrete has been a leader in precast concrete products for residential, commercial, agricultural and municipal landscapes. Their products include a wide selection of pavers, retaining walls, steps, planters and site furnishings, exemplifying the very highest design and manufacturing standards.

Relish was initially approached by Barkman in 2017 with the request of redesigning their catalogue series. Since then, a growing relationship has blossomed.

The Opportunity

The goal with the Barkman catalogue was for the publications to speak with a greater level of sophistication and clarity than in previous years. A minimalist design aesthetic was employed allowing for plenty of white space that let the stunning product photography speak for itself.

Since the initial success of the catalogue series, Relish has worked on a number of projects for Barkman’s including stationery, brochures, ads and the development of their 70th-anniversary logo. The same minimalist aesthetic has been utilized in all executions. Care in art direction and attention to detail with photo retouching has resulted in visually stunning work that shines a spotlight on the product in the most visually stunning way possible.
